What name do you like to go by?
Tyler
How did you get into fitness?
Growing up, my dad went to the gym every day. Seeing his consistency is what started my fitness journey. Then one day, a friend at work mentioned how much she loved her kickboxing class at the gym and that was my first introduction to group classes. Since then, I’ve been hooked!
What inspires you?
Might sound cheesy, but what inspires me is kindness. People that put others’ needs before their own and take the time to listen.
What do you like to do on the weekends?
I am a huge fan of the arts! I have several friends that are performers and I love going to the theater, shows, concerts, and the symphony. I also enjoy seeing movies, traveling, playing piano, and game night with friends.
What’s your pre-workout routine or ritual?
Nothing too crazy…I always try to get enough rest, drink plenty of water, and have a light snack.
What has motivated you to become a trainer?
I love the interactions I have with members. Getting to know others and seeing them grow in their fitness journey. Plus, I have made some great friends along the way!
How do you motivate others?
One point I like to emphasize is having fun! I always tell my classes the key to working out is to find something you like to do. If working out is miserable and a chore, it’s very difficult to stick with it. Find something you are passionate about and love doing!
What are your 5 favorite songs from your workout playlist?
Shake Your Groove Thing – Peaches & Herb
Shut Up and Dance – Walk The Moon
Party Rock Anthem – LMFAO
Good Vibrations – Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch
Spice Up Your Life – Spice Girls
What “healthy” food do you hate?
For me, the easier question is what unhealthy food do I love….chocolate! I guess my answer would be, mushrooms.
What are you most proud of?
I have 4 jobs and have worked very hard at maintaining a balanced life, both physically, financially, emotionally and spiritually. I really love everything that I do and try to appreciate every moment I’m given.
Where can everyone find you?
Some of my favorite places to travel include New York, Vegas, and Oregon. I also am very involved in my church, and I love going to Rubios for their fish tacos!
What are some of your goals?
One goal I’m always reaching for is to try new things. I think a lot of times we get in a rut and it’s difficult to branch out.
Anything else that you would like us to know?
My favorite cheat meal is chicken nuggets.
